Adatia, a lawyer at Bennett Jones LLP, lost in the recent provincial election as the Progressive Conservative candidate in Calgary-Shaw. He had earlier served as chief financial officer in Redford’s Tory leadership campaign.
“Farouk’s experience and values are reflective of a new government focused on building an even better Alberta,” Redford said in a statement.
On becoming premier last October, Redford appointed her leadership campaign strategist, Stephen Carter, as her chief of staff.
