STETTLER, Alberta – April 17, 2026 – WeMaple has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with AutoTrust Stettler, a trusted automotive repair shop serving the heart of rural Alberta, to participate in the documentary film series as a part of WeMaple Special Presentation Part I.
WeMaple will collaborate closely with AutoTrust Stettler to develop a short film feature and narrative surrounding its commitment to honest, skilled automotive service, and how the shop has become an indispensable pillar of the Stettler community.
“Truly though, we are going to give the viewer a basic understanding of gasoline, where it comes from, how it is made, and resulting emissions. Not in a climate alarmist way, just the realities,” states Matt Keay WeMaple Executive Producer.
WeMaple started as a grassroots effort to celebrate amazing achievements of Canadians for the country’s 150th anniversary in 2017 through creative visual narratives. Since then, the WeMaple series has expanded to focus on stories of innovation, excellence, and perseverance across the nation.
AutoTrust Stettler caught WeMaple’s attention because they represent something we don’t see highlighted enough — the quiet, consistent dedication of a local trades business that a community simply cannot function without. Their story is a reminder that excellence doesn’t always come from a boardroom; sometimes it comes from a garage in central Alberta.
“Interwoven here are present-day rural communities where this legacy of innovation still lives. In towns like Stettler, Alberta’s energy story is not theoretical – it’s personal states owner, Brad Wohlgemuth. “Automotive and service businesses represent how energy, transportation, and industry converge in everyday life, reminding us that innovation must work not only at scale, but at street level.”
AutoTrust and central Alberta especially aligns with the belief that every customer deserves honest advice and quality work, regardless of the size of the job.
“Stettler and surrounding Alberta is a hub for innovation and storytelling and being part of the WeMaple series is an opportunity to share that philosophy more broadly and show what a local repair shop can mean to a town like Stettler,” ends Wohlgemuth.
