CALGARY, Alberta – May 25, 2026 – WeMaple confirmed that VEK LABS has been selected as a production services partner for WeMaple Special Presentation Part I, an upcoming documentary production advancing under Alberta’s Film and Television Tax Credit (FTTC) Program and being produced in accordance with Canadian Audio-Visual Certification Office (CAVCO) documentary guidelines.
The collaboration brings together WeMaple’s documentary development and production framework with VEK LABS’ expertise in cinematic production, post-production, and visual storytelling. Under the agreement, VEK LABS will support various stages of production and post-production services as the documentary explores stories shaping Alberta’s evolving energy, infrastructure, and innovation economy.
Founded in Alberta, VEK LABS has developed a reputation for high-quality visual production across documentary, commercial, and branded storytelling formats. The alignment reflects WeMaple’s continued approach of collaborating with experienced Canadian production professionals, technical specialists, contributors, and participating organizations to support documentary storytelling rooted in real-world innovation and community perspectives.

WeMaple Special Presentation Part I is currently in production and supported through a combination of private sector participation, production partnerships, and provincial and federal screen-based production incentives. The production is also supported by a distribution agreement with Telus and is pursuing additional digital, festival, broadcast, and international distribution opportunities upon completion.
